Holga

Here are recent Holga pictures. This camera has now retired as the plastic film rewind handle has come completely unglued from the camera body. Myla is one happy girl as the Holga has now officially become her camera. She walks around our home with the camera around her neck taking pictures of her dolls, her kitchen, and asking us to smile for her. I love watching her play photographer. Though this one is retiring,  I do now have a new Holga in it’s place ready for this year. Enjoy!!!

One of Twelve

Last weekend we celebrated my father’s birthday and our nephew’s first birthday. The party theme was a mustache bash. You can see more of the party pictures here. So I thought it would be great to get our one of twelve together with the fun mustaches, as well as one without them. Well we got the first one, but not the later one. The only one of the three of us this month is with our lovely mustaches! And we look so serious too. One completed eleven to go! Join me in capture a photo of you and your family once a month!

and a silly one!Happy Birthday POPS!!

Instagram: January

My phone is now has 4,000 less pictures on it and ready to capture this year! I do not like deleting images even if they are backed up. I saved a few favorite from last year on my phone, mainly the ones from summer. They help me remember that warmer and brighter months are ahead! I am still loving Instagram when I am not carrying my mark ii in my purse. January consisted of finishing the kitchen remodel (new counter tops, appliances, and sink), moving back into the kitchen (it felt like moving day), becoming a regular at our local pub, photo shoots for Lyndon Heath Cabinetry and for Elizabeth Reich ( you can follow her on Houzz here.), and for me I am  loving my new floors!

Best pub in town…I always get a burger with fries and Myla a Cesar salad!

Thanks to Williams Sonoma we are added cabbage to the top of chili and loving the added crunch and sweetness.in our home we all LOVE Dowton Abbey!Myla got a custom wedding gown made by her Gigi. When I saw her in it, I had tears in my eyes.

I know the day will be here sooner then later.

A special treat from my sister in law! it has been delicious on these below 30 days!sweet words on her new chalkboard.a little sneak peek of the new maple butcher block counter top and subway white tiles for the back-splash.out to lunch with friends and all the kids ate by themselves at their own table which meant adult conversation uninterrupted.

ten things

I thought it would be fun to share a little bit about me. Starting here with a list of ten things that you might or might not know about me. Here we go…

1. I was a flower girl when I was ten months old and walked down the aisle of my aunt’s wedding. My mother made my dress.

2. I played three sports throughout high school: soccer, basketball, and lacrosse. Lacrosse being my favorite.

3. I have never broken a bone; however I have had to get stitches on my chin three times. I can remember all three times.

4. If I have leftover pasta from the night before, I love eating it for breakfast. Butter and parmesan cheese please!

5. I look through magazines backwards, always starting with the last page.

6. When Lyndon and I traveled to Europe in 2006 I drove the Ford rental car the whole two weeks. Not because I like driving or control; but I was the only one old enough to rent a car. I will say that I was disappointed to be driving a Ford in Europe, I was wanting something well more European.

7. Peaches are my favorite fruit and I love picking them. I made this peach cake for Myla’s birthday this summer, it was delicious!

8. Our first kiss on the lips was on our wedding day in 2004!

9. My middle initial is “d” for Deneke. It’s my mother’s maiden name and I have grown to cherish being given it.

10. Woodberry Kitchen is hands down my most favorite restaurant ever!!! The atmosphere, details, presentation, style, and the tasty farm to table food has spoiled my eating experience as I compare every restaurant to it!

#4 and #5 are funny! And I’m with you about Woodberry Kitchen. Love that place!
