Shooting Personally

The last few months my mind has been in wedding world, shooting interiors, trips to Maryland, wedding details and design, and bridal showers. My sister is getting married in five days!!! I have to remind myself to pick up the camera and shoot for myself. Shoot the everyday that I love and can over look when running from one thing to the next. After getting back my scans from St. Lucia I decided the next rolls I would shoot for myself. Anytime I would have picked up my camera I instead picked up the Contax 645. It made me slow down and frame each shot. I received my scans over the weekend and it just reminded me how rewarding it is to shoot for yourself. Receiving and looking at the images made me want to shoot more of our everyday on film. Some images were not crisp and I am still learning. Overall, I was pleased with the photographs, love the color, and so happy with the FIND LAB who developed and scanned my images. Enjoy pieces of my everyday!

Charlene Petersen of Cashmere Interior: Baltimore Residence (part two)

Today we continue with more rooms designed by Charlene of Cashmere Interior. It you missed the other rooms, you can see them here. Charlene worked along with the homeowners to create and design each room according to their desires and style. This comes naturally for Charlene as she is down to earth and easy to get along with. Charlene balances hearing her clients desires with knowing when to encourage her client to a new color or or a piece that will contribute to the room’s character and style. The rooms today include the foyer, the sitting area, the  the family room, dining room, living room, and the nursery. ENJOY!!!

The Foyer

The gold sunburst draws your attention in.The Sitting Room

Love the chandelier and patterns in the fabrics.A favorite piece in the room for Charlene is the antique mirror and wood chest of drawers that is used as the bar.Charlene describes how this piece of wood marries glamour and style with function and depth.

It keeps this whole open space grounded. The focal point of the Sitting room and Living Room is the view.

As part of the client’s wishes for a white, fresh home with a feminine edge Charlene was able to keep the palette neutral.

This allowed the view to pop!The Family Room is located off of the kitchen and continues in a neutral palette as the

walls are painted in the classic white dove. The ottoman is faux ostrich, the sofa is an ivory linen blend with heavy texture and the drapery is a white pleated linen

all adding textures and layers to this cozy room. The accent of gold and gray are fresh and sophisticated and brings warmth into the family’s gathering area. These two rooms are anchored by the large cabinet with linen and metal trellis doors. The Dining RoomLove the patterns within the neutral palette !The NurseryPink, perfect for a little girl!Soft, warm, and comfortable is that pink cashmere blanket to snuggle up a little one.Color combination: pink and gold!

Charlene Petersen of Cashmere Interior: Baltimore Residence

I had the honor to work with Charlene Petersen, owner of Cashmere Interior late March to photograph one of her client’s home. Charlene’s goal is clear when working with her clients. She wants to give them a home that they love. Charlene does this through her ability to hear and know what her clients wants. She is down to earth and listens. Charlene’s life and career opportunities have allowed her to travel the world that has given her the ability to select one of a kind pieces that are classic and that are the perfect design for your home. The rooms designed by Charlene are classic, sophisticated, warm and cozy. The perfect combination that makes a home.  I had a wonderful full day of photographing this residence along side of Charlene. The rooms featured below are the study, guest bedroom, and master bedroom. More rooms to come! ENJOY!!!

The study is located down the hall from other spaces in the home and has great sunlight.

Charlene wanted this room to be fresh, warm and inviting for the passerby.

This room painted in Benjamin Moore’s Duxbury Gray accomplished this goal.

This color seems to vary from Green, to Gray to Blue, and it’s  color that Charlene loves.

A favorite piece in this room are the burlap ottomans. They are functional as well as keeping the room grounded! The over sized sofa, geometric rug, and ikat linen drapery completes the warm and yet fun room as a modern family hangout.A perfect and inviting place to relax together as a family. The guest bedroomAgain this room is light, warm and inviting for their guest. The accent color of navy is classic.I love the curves in the mirrors as well as in the headboard. The Master Bedroom

(it’s a favorite of mine!)

Charlene works along each client to know their desires per room and then creates them.

For the master bedroom there were clear descriptors “ice blue, crystal and silk”.

Take a look at each photograph to see how Charlene designed this room to meet her clients desire.

There was one challenge Charlene shared, keeping the design from floating away into a girls only space.

You know there is a man and women sharing the space together.

The limed oak bedside tables gave the right amount of “earth” to anchor the beautiful silk wall paper.

Look at the layers, colors and textures! Beautiful! You can not help but stare. Here is the crystal in the room, it hangs from above. The drapery  has a metallic pattern on blue ground.

It is a heavy velvet that adds a needed weight to the room

Instragrams: April

April came and went so fast. It started with a trip out to Denver CO with my mom to celebrate my sister’s bridal shower. Everything was going well we even got to see her in her wedding dress! But then the flu hit me and I was sick. So sick and in bed. I rallied for the shower on Saturday that was beautiful but could not eat any of the delicious food. I had a bite of plain white toast. By late Saturday night I was out of bed and ready to rejoin the fun weekend plans! My sister and I got to have breakfast at one of my favorites on Pearl Street, we all drove out to red rocks and enjoyed a long drive through the mountains, and then out for dinner. The rest of the month was the everyday…paying bills, cooking dinner, dropping off Myla at preschool and not apologizing for being late often, grocery shopping at Millers, and a date night to Bulls Head in Lititz. It is our favorite place to eat in the coolest small town of America! If you ever visit it a must! ENJOY!!!

I should have put on sunglasses!Myla likes to carry her baby in her ergo when grocery shopping, just like I did with her.Working on a tulle skirt for a flower girl!Bulls Head and yes Lititz really got voted coolest small town of America!

. . .. . .. . .. . .

Lititz IS a cool town, for sure. And Myla’s ergo is adorable!
